Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is part of the larger Fanatics ecosystem, bringing the fan experience into sports betting and online Casino gaming.

Building Fanatics Casino’s design system was part of a larger initiative to establish a unified design system across FBG. Each vertical had a dedicated design lead responsible for contributing to the shared FBG library while building and maintaining its own product-specific library. I owned the Fanatics Casino library, building its foundation from the ground up. This proved to be a challenge as the system that existed previously really only operated on several old and unmaintained components. 

The work included:

• 80+ components built for Fanatics Casino
• 300+ design tokens to establish consistency across the system
• Variable collections to support scalable, flexible design decisions
• Cross-vertical alignment with the broader design system and FBG ecosystem
• A foundation for Code Connect to bridge Figma components with production code and streamline design to development workflows

This work establishes a scalable foundation for more consistent product experiences, greater component reuse, and less duplicated design and development work. As the system rolls out in code, it is expected to streamline workflows and save time across teams.

This work taught me a lot about the thought and attention to detail that goes into building a design system that actually scales. From accessibility testing to aligning components across different verticals, it reinforced the value of consistency, collaboration, and creating systems that make everyone's work easier over time.
